The Team

  • Christina Bennett

    Ph.D. STUDENT

Christina is investigating the tectonic history of the Indus and Shyok Suture Zones in Ladakh, India. Using a combination of high and low temperature thermochronology, she aims to determine the timing of initial deformation on fault surfaces and reactivation of faults during continued Himalayan crustal shortening.

  • Sumeet Singh

    Ph.D. STUDENT (VISITING)

Sumeet studies the sedimentology and deformation of forearc basin strata from the Indus suture zone. He will soon be visiting from Jammu University in India to do a paleomagnetic project in the Martin group.

  • Jaylee Williams

    UNDERGRADUTE RESEARCHER

I have an interest in data analysis and visualization within various fields of geology. I enjoy putting together the puzzle pieces of our changing earth throughout time. I’m currently part of the lab team doing paleomagnetic analyses. I am from Farmington, New Mexico, and spend my free time hiking, reading, and performing with the Longhorn Pep Band.

  • Camila Van Der Maal

    UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCHER

I am currently investigating the effects of lithology on magnetic inclination shallowing. To do this I will be analyzing rock cores from California and conducting incremental alternating field and thermal demagnetization experiments to constrain the paleomagnetic records contained within turbidite deposits.

  • Annel Perez

    UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCHER

I’m currently part of the lab team doing paleomagnetic analyses.

  • Keilani Gonzalez
