Structure - Paleomagnetism - Tectonics
My research group studies mountain belts, plate tectonics, and the geomagnetic field.
Understanding Earth requires going out into it, seeing it, and interacting with it. We do fieldwork all over the world to study the rocks that preserve a record of Earth’s past.

Our group uses field-based structural geology and geochronology to unravel tectonic events and the uplift of major mountain belts, such as the Himalaya.
Structure

Paleomagnetism
We study the magnetism of rocks in order to map out the ancient positions of continental plates and geological terranes and understand how the geodynamo has changed through time.

We use plate reconstructions and geophysical models to study the forces that shape the surface of Earth and other planets in our solar system.
